As 2015 draws to a close and we publish the final edition of ‘Newsline’ for the year, I would like to thank all our clients for their past support and look forward to working with you again in 2016.  I wish all of our clients, staff and consultants a very joyful Christmas and the best of everything for the New Year!  A huge thanks too, to Directors and staff for all your support and hard work over the year, without this dedication, we would not enjoy the ‘provider of choice’ reputation for which we are known.
For those wishing to get a ‘career start’ in the New Year (or know someone looking for an opportunity) we are pleased to announce that a Pre Apprenticeship in Glass and Glazing program will commence in February 2016.

The end of another busy and challenging year approaches – time seems to disappear all too quickly these days!
On a quick reflection of the ‘year that was’, I recall some highlights …
  • The transition of our Resource and Infrastructure trainers and resources to the new RII Training Package. This turned out to be a mammoth task, but we successfully completed this exercise in good time. Just as we sat back to breathe a sigh of relief, Skills DMCnotified us just this week;

S
kills DMC is pleased to announce that the standing of the RII Resources and Infrastructure  Industry   Training Package (RII Training Package) has been further enhanced through its 1 December 2015    endorsement by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee.”

So, here we go again!

Skills Service Organisations - Update

16/12/2015

0 Comments

The information in this article has been sourced from www.education.gov.au/skills-service-organisations and is provided by way of an update of the current status regarding Skills Service Organisations.

The Commonwealth Department of Education and Training is undertaking a competitive expression of interest process to identify organisations to operate as Skills Service Organisations (SSOs).  Under the new arrangements for developing training packages, Industry Reference Groups (IRCs) will drive training package development. They will be supported in this work by SSOs. These organisations will support a range of IRCs by providing a range of independent professional activities including technical, operational and secretariat services to enable the IRCs to undertake their industry engagement and training product development and review activities.

We recently said farewell to Valentina Strazzera who finished up with Progressive Training on the 2nd of December 2015 and will soon be relocating to Melbourne.   On her last day we held a small morning tea that included Val’s favourite chocolate, strawberry cake and multiple laughs!
Val commenced with Progressive Training in May 2014 in the role of Client Services/Training Resources Co-coordinator.  In her time at Progressive Training Val completed her Diploma of Management and made many valuable contributions to the team.  Val was always a pleasure to work with and be around and no matter the situation she could always find the positive side. Val always managed to make you smile. She will be missed.
All at Progressive Training wish Val well on her adventures to Victoria and good luck with all she may do in the future.
