2017 has seen a big change in direction for Progressive and to sum up the year in a few words really isn’t doing justice to the time the staff have put in.

This year we have managed to open, not only our office in Broome, to support the Skills for Education and Employment Program (SEE Program), but we have managed to lease and refurbish a premises in Perth that will allow for the facilitation of various types of training. The tireless work of our Company Directors; Geoff and Kris Feddersen have seen an extremely conveniently placed building in Burswood, transform into what will now become our firm base for the group training of Glass and Glazing apprentices. The building also has the facilities to double as a training / learning centre for other ventures such as the AS1288 Standard presentation that Progressive Training will be facilitating in conjunction with AGGA (Australian Glass and Glazing Association), set to commence early next year.  With a dedicated workshop space, office space and training room ready to go for 2018, we will be able to look at broadening our horizons and getting back to what Progressive once was able to offer our clients, which is access to quality training facilities in the Perth Metropolitan area.

On the 10th December 2017  Progressive Training and Early Explorers Learning Centre attended their combined Christmas Party at the Lavender Farm.  Below are some photos of the beautiful day we had.

We would like to welcome three new staff members to the Progressive Training team, Andrew McGhie, who is our new Glass and Glazing Trainer, Julie Camp, who is our casual Bookkeeper and Shelby Jones who is  our new Client Service/Administrator. Below is a brief introduction to our newest team member.

So here we are middle of April already!
As we enter the last quarter of the 2015/16 financial year this could be the perfect time to update your skills profile, gain an additional qualification or take the opportunity to undertake some professional development.  Check out the ‘Calendar of Events’ included with this edition and pick up a skills set or two!

 With 2016 well and truly in full swing, it is nice to take a moment to write a short article for Newsline to reflect on some of the achievements for 2015.

For me personally, 2015 saw Progressive Training continue to upskill numerous people across the region and within Geraldton, specifically in the fields of Management and Work Health and Safety. Several public courses were run throughout the year with all producing great results.

As 2016 is well and truly underway, so are our courses. Why not take a look at a few courses Progressive Training has to offer and the dates these courses will be running in the up coming months.

Scott Rubery recently joined the Progressive Training team in the newly created role of Training Resources Development and RTO Scope Officer after previously working in the RTO industry with other providers in management, compliance and training roles.

Scott has a diverse background and has gained wide and extensive experience in both work and life. This experience has seen him live and work in different states around the country, including his home town of Geraldton as well as Perth, Gold Coast, Cairns and Melbourne, which has helped shape his work and personal life.

Now this is a man of many talents – not only did he share his birthday cake with us, he also harvested the honey that went into the ‘honey layer cake’! 
We are a talented lot here you know – not only do we have some of the best trainers on staff you could possibly want but they too are a truly talented when it comes to choosing their life partners especially when it comes to cooking and kitchen skills!
