What a great achievement, to have recently gone through an audit with ASQA and be rewarded with a further 5 year registration to operate as a quality Registered Training Organisation.  A proud moment for us all and well deserved, if I do say so myself!
There have been many projects on the go over the last several months, and as a result, the Surface Extraction Operations and Resource Processing sectors are proving to hold strong with trainee programs across the state. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate  GlassCo apprentice, Dylan Parker, who won the Glass & Window Association Apprentice of the Year Award held in Perth in July. What an amazing achievement and a testament to the high quality training and assessment occurring within the workplace at GlassCo.
You may have already heard there are currently many changes happening in terms of training package alterations and updates.  These will affect the Glass and Glazing as well as the Resources and Infrastructure industries.  Both packages are quite large in their own right, and as we are currently in the process of applying to ASQA to transition to the new packages we hope to soon have the approval to move to the next stage.  So be warned - change usually means Professional Development update requirements – particularly if units are not equivalent!
Have you looked at our website lately? Go online to see if there is anything new on the site. One of the features Progressive Training offers to our trainers and assessors is the ability to log on and update their Professional Development online whenever they have completed any relevant training to their industry. Many of our trainers and assessors are now using this process. This is also the forum whereby they input their industry currency.  It is a great way of capturing relevant information on a regular basis which fulfils some of our regulatory obligations.
We are all well and truly ensconced in the second half of the year and with Christmas fast approaching we are all busy with our heads down and tails up, but there is always time to discuss new options  and further training, so whatever your requirements give our office a call and we can discuss your needs.

Train well and stay safe.
