A small word from our Lead Trainer/Facilitator

Well… it is a little over a calendar year since starting with Progressive Training (where has the time gone?) and what a sensational year it has been. The team here have welcomed me in with open arms and given me exposure to many facets of the RTO world, all the while providing a fantastic transition from my previous life as a Training Sergeant with the Australian Regular Army to Lead Trainer / Facilitator here at Progressive.

2014 saw me ‘cut my teeth’ on several accredited and non-accredited courses, ranging from; Certificate I in Leadership Development to Certificate IV in Frontline Management to Diploma of Management, with RPL for courses such as Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety thrown in for good measure. I was also very fortunate to be given the opportunity to enhance my own professional development through the completion of dual Certificate IV qualifications in Employment Services and Career Development.

I can’t believe we well over the half way mark for 2015… time must fly when you’re having fun! The first half of 2015 has provided more RPL and another good mix of accredited / non-accredited courses. The latest notch on my belt has been provided by the Panaceum Group here in Geraldton, where six staff members have just completed their Diploma of Management. This was a great opportunity for me personally, as the Diploma was run over 10 weeks in location at the Panaceum, with a group of already highly skilled participants. The skills and experience the participants on the course brought to the table provided a great learning opportunity for me also and as a trainer / facilitator, continual improvement through learning is something high on my priority list. Being able to run a course at the clients’ premises and contextualize the course activities to their surroundings was something that was very well received (Double bonus… I was also able to get great coffee every day from the lovely ladies at the Panaceum coffee shop). The second half of the year has got me chomping at the bit, because at the end of July, I get to run the brand new BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, for the first time since its release this year.

Having run multiple courses now and having settled into the culture here at Progressive Training, I am very much looking forward to what the future may hold and am very much looking forward to possibly seeing you on a course in the near future.

Kind regards,

Jason Driscoll
Lead Trainer
