This is our first edition of 'Newsline' for 2014. We hope you will enjoy it! The year has started with a variety of activities - induction training for one of our major clients, a business course here in Geraldton and some of our training consultants have ventured far and wide delivering a variety of Worksafe licenced courses, machine operator training as well as 4WD training. The year is off with a bang!
February has gone and we are into our third month – WOW – time is flying by.
If anyone was lucky enough to have some time off over the Christmas New Year holiday period, I hope that it was enjoyable and everyone has returned healthy, happy and rearing to go for what the New Year may bring.
I was very fortunate to have around six weeks off and spent most of that time in spectacular Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Bali, along with my family and some great friends.
Considering there were six children and six adults in the mix, we all traveled well together, and yes, we are still talking to each other! The mode of travel varied greatly from planes, trains, mini vans, taxis, tuk tuks, boats along the Mekong and even an elephant. There are so many great places we saw that I would have to provide a list of my most favourite as I just could not possibly list one. Halong Bay, Luang Prabung, Mekong River and Chiang Rai would have to be just a few on that list.

It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I write my last article for Progressive Training. After 5 years of trying, I have been offered a position in the next Firefighter school, commencing March 24th. While it is exciting that I am finally getting the chance to do my dream job, it does mean leaving the awesome team at Progressive Training and all the fantastic people I've got to meet during my time here...
I have always been fascinated by birds! Maybe because of their ability to fly or perhaps for their ability to sing and make a joyful noise, either way, I love to watch and photograph them.
Recently I joined a Facebook group called Australian Birds and it has renewed my desire to go out and capture these wonders of nature on film (or should I say “on digital sensor” – doesn’t have the same ring does it!).
Over the past few days I went to a beach in Geraldton at Point Moore to try and capture some images of the various birds there. To my surprise I was excited to find more varieties than I thought I would see...
