Following the recent extensive review of the RII Training Package, we have been working tirelessly to provide our trainers with up to date and improved training and assessing resources that support our most widely sought after Units of Competency. I extend special thanks to the team for their work in this area and am very pleased to note the improvements to our Portal which provides our trainers with secure access to the latest resources and required forms.
We are already well past the half-way mark of the year and as someone reminded me only the other day it is now only about 16 weeks until Christmas! Time is never still in the world of a Registered Training Organisation and here at Progressive we continue to keep ourselves busy with all number of things.

Since the publication of the last Newline, there has been quite a bit of activity in the areas of Training and Compliance. You may be aware that on the 1st of January 2015, the Australian Government replaced the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2012 with the new Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) 2015. All RTO’s across Australia have had to implement a continuous improvement process to ensure the transition from the old to the new Standards is one that is smooth, efficient and without too much disruption to the services being provided. Certificate IV Training and Assessment Skills Cluster
During May this year, a team of six staff from Port Hedland Operations and Dampier Operations undertook a Skills Cluster towards their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at the DSL Port Hedland site. Geoff Feddersen from Progressive Training, helped facilitate the participants through units in Workplace assessment , LLN and Work skill instruction as part of the week long learning activities. Geoff was very impressed with all participants and their utilisation of prior experience, commitment and attitude to the training. Well… it is a little over a calendar year since starting with Progressive Training (where has the time gone?) and what a sensational year it has been. The team here have welcomed me in with open arms and given me exposure to many facets of the RTO world, all the while providing a fantastic transition from my previous life as a Training Sergeant with the Australian Regular Army to Lead Trainer / Facilitator here at Progressive. Progressive Training (WA) Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) (No. 5274) based in Geraldton, Western Australia, providing quality endorsed national training and consultancy services. VISION Progressive Training (WA) Pty Ltd will be a professional and responsive partner in providing quality training experiences and opportunities. MISSION To facilitate in partnership, the knowledge, skills and attitudes that establishes a culture of “Training from within”. During the last week in August, Valentina (Val) Strazzera, travelled all the way to Rockhampton in Queensland to join the Northern Queensland Futsal team competing in the Chancellor's Cup for the Central Queensland University. She was the only representative from WA. As many of you will know Valentina works part-time for Progressive Training in the position of VET Training Resources Assistant. In addition to her sporting commitments and her work at Progressive, Val still finds time for some shifts as a barista at a local café in Geraldton as well as her studies towards a Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree through Central Queensland University based at the Geraldton Universities Centre (GUC). There has been a slight change in staff at Progressive Training and with great pleasure we introduce Ellen Evers our new Client Services/Receptionist. This is Ellen's story.....
