Training Operations and Compliance

Since the publication of the last Newline, there has been quite a bit of activity in the areas of Training and Compliance.

You may be aware that on the 1st of January 2015, the Australian Government replaced the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2012 with the new Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) 2015.

All RTO’s across Australia have had to implement a continuous improvement process to ensure the transition from the old to the new Standards is one that is smooth,  efficient and without too much disruption to the services being provided.

For us at Progressive Training this process has meant a review and update of our policies, procedures, systems, as well as the requirements for Trainers and Assessors. What this process has not changed for Progressive Training is our commitment to provide quality training to our clients with the best trainers and assessors available who continue to stay current and regularly update their skills within their specific training areas.

Just recently, our governing body, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), approved our application to add to Scope the following qualifications:

  • Certificate II in Glass and Glazing;

  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management replacing the Certificate IV Frontline Management; and

  • Diploma in Leadership and Management replacing the Diploma of Management

The Certificate II in Glass and Glazing is a pre-apprenticeship to be offered in Geraldton with the involvement of local glazing businesses.

What a fantastic opportunity this is for anyone who is considering a career change or a student finishing school at the end of the year and would like a career in this thriving industry.

The course is scheduled to commence in December 2015, so if you are interested, or know of anyone who may be, give us a call or hop on to our website to view the package and the advantages this course may offer.

Are you currently developing and emerging as a leader in your chosen field or looking to improve your leadership and management skills?  We are set and ready to go if you are requiring a Certificate IV or Diploma in Leadership and Management. Jump on to our website to find out how you can start this process, or give us a call and we will help you achieve your goal.
