Christmas Island is a natural wonder - a remote tropical island famous for its unique red crabs, robber crabs and spectacular bird life. It is an Australian Territory which lies way out in the Indian Ocean 2,600 kilometers northwest of Perth and 500 kilometers south of Indonesia's capital Jakarta.
Italo Amato from the Department willingly and very capably, showed off his tour guiding skills to Geoff, with trips around the island and a running commentary of the history and special island wonders.
earth that live to be 50-70 years of age. Robber crabs have exceptional climbing ability and will obsessively pick up and carry off foreign items they may come across and are well known for stealing shiny items such as pots and silver ware from camps and properties.
