The team attending the course had a very interactive week as they engaged in assessment and training activities while working towards achieving the following units:
TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction
TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes
TAEASS402B Conduct assessment
TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation
Some of the assessment activities were based around the Semi Water Truck (pictured) while training deliveries targeted many different topics ranging from site based topics like Cyclone Awareness, Using a Fire Extinguisher and Operating a Harvester through to personal interest topics like food preparation, knitting and origami. We endeavour to make the training as practical based and real as possible to give students the best chance of understanding how it all applies in real work situations.
Well done to the students for your great efforts and hard work. All the best as you apply your new learnt skills in your work place.
A TAE skills cluster was conducted on site at Dampier Salt Port Hedland site, during the month of June. Attendees were Greg McKee, Julie Herdoub, Rohin Morley and Daniel Simpson.
The skills cluster was facilitated by Geoff Feddersen from Progressive Training and covered assessment practices linked to DSL procedures and training delivery sessions.
The attendees were able to recognise the contribution they would make to training and assessment practices in their respective roles after their training was completed.
"They were a very impressive group and it was a pleasure to be the facilitator", said Mr. Feddersen.
