With Christmas just around the corner, it is time for Progressive Training’s last Newsline article for the year, and what a year it has been…
2017 has seen a significant shift in direction for Progressive Training. This directional shift has bought with it a few challenges, but in the main, has produced very positive results and has well and truly set Progressive Training up for a great start to 2018. This could not have been achieved without the dedicated and professional team we have on board and I’d like to publicly thank all our Staff and Contractors (new and not-so-new) for their efforts this year. Through your combined efforts, you have made it possible to look back at 2017 with a smile and look forward to a successful 2018 with an even bigger smile.

We have conducted several courses this year in Geraldton, in particular the Health and Safety Representatives course approved by WorkSafe and several high-risk qualifications such as forklift / confined space and working at heights. We have also seen one of our Director’s, Geoff Feddersen, one of our Contractors, Terry May and one of our staff, Bill Belson all operate out of Dampier Salt Limited over various sites in 2017. Progressive have always had a close connection with the mining sector, DSL in particular, and it has been great to see signs of the economy picking back up via training requests from one of the big players.
Close to home now and a few massive congratulations are in order that have been a long time in the delivery (pun intended). Firstly, to Stacey and Ben Ackley, who welcomed Logan into the world in May this year… Stacey who still helps us out with all things website based is taking a well-earned time out to play mum. This happy arrival was closely followed by our admin all-star, Ellen Evers welcoming Isabelle into the world. Ellen, the Progressive team thank you for all you’ve done and wish you, Luke and Isabelle every happiness for the future. Ellen will be a big loss to Progressive but has made the call to move back to QLD with her family. Not to be outdone, our newest admin trainee, Shelby Jones, has decided to follow closely in the footsteps of Stacey and Ellen and is due with her first in April next year. We still have Shelby for a bit longer, so we are fortunate not to have to say goodbye just yet.
In closing, I’d like to say to all our clients, contractors and staff… thank you for all you have done in 2017, have a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. Look forward to the next update in 2018.
