It seems that every time there is a new edition of Newsline I get to report on more Training Package changes! This time around I have two for you!
The first one is a single unit of competency we have on Scope – MSAPMOHS217A Gas testing atmospheres. This equivalent unit has now been moved from the Well Servicing Training Package, placed into Process Manufacturing and given a coding change......
The first one is a single unit of competency we have on Scope – MSAPMOHS217A Gas testing atmospheres. This equivalent unit has now been moved from the Well Servicing Training Package, placed into Process Manufacturing and given a coding change......
This unit of competency is now MSMWHS217 Gas testing atmospheres. We have already completed the transition of resources and trainers, so we are off and running with this one.
The second Training Package that has recently been changed is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Cert IV in TAE). The TAE40110 has been replaced with the new non-equivalent TAE40116 qualification. I did just mention that this qualification is not equivalent but do not despair - you do not have to rush out and upgrade your old Cert IV in TAE40110 just yet!
Fortunately for all current trainers and assessors, the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) 2015 state that RTO’s training and assessment is to be delivered by people who have the training and assessment qualification “TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor”. So, while the TAE40110’s successor is not equivalent, it is still accepted as a formal qualification for those who currently train and assess. That is good news for everyone involved.
Although the new TAE40116 has been endorsed, we are still able to issue the TAE40110 until October 2017 – so get in quick!!
