Progressive Training (WA) Pty Ltd is excited to announce the availability of three Polymer Welding units of competency. The skill set includes -
- PMBWELD301B Butt weld polyethylene plastic pipelines
- PMBWELD302B Electro fusion weld polyethylene pipelines
- PMBWELD309B Weld plastic using extrusion techniques
The program is designed for clients who are already working in the plastics, rubber and cable making industry and wish to increase their skills in the field of welding. Upon successful completion of the course and the required industry experience, participants are issued with a Statement of Attainment, Welder Card and Welder Stamp (for butt-welding course) and will be able to meet the standards for quality welding of plastic pipes and sheets.
The skills set may be delivered in the form of one or more units with each unit of competency delivered and assessed individually. There are no formal pre-requisites to undertake any of the units but basic maths and English skills are necessary and some industry experience is preferred. It is also possible to deliver PMBWELD301B and PMBWELD302B together in situations where clients have industry experience as the required knowledge and pipe materials of these units are very similar. Clients who have had industry experience in welding can bring evidence of working on-the-job and this will be assessed over the duration of the course providing they meet all requirements.
Clients with no industry experience will be issued with an attendance certificate until they have completed the workplace evidence log demonstrating application of the skills over a period of time. This log must be returned within an agreed period of time but no longer than 6 months after the course delivery.
